SolicitationA public adjuster may not initiate contact or contract with a policyholder until 48 hours after the loss event unless the policyholder initiates contact. Solicitation is limited to Monday–Saturday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Policyholders may cancel without penalty within 10 days of contract execution; during a Governor-declared emergency, within 30 days of the loss or 10 days of execution, whichever is longer (Fla. Stat. §626.854(7)). Public adjusters may not compensate anyone other than another licensed public adjuster for referring business (§626.854(12)). Public adjuster advertising must carry the statutory disclaimer.
