Public adjusters in Louisiana

Licensed and regulated by the Louisiana Department of Insurance. Louisiana prohibits percentage-based and contingency fees entirely. A public adjuster may charge only a reasonable flat fee or hourly rate. Any contract providing for payment contingent upon or calculated as a percentage of claim proceeds is against public policy and null and void (R.S. 22:1703(A)).
