Public adjuster rules by state

Every rule below is backed by a verbatim quote from the statute or regulation. States appear only after we read the statute at its official source and record the quote. We currently have 10 states verified across four rule tables.

Fee caps

The maximum a public adjuster can charge on a non-emergency claim. Louisiana bans percentage fees entirely.

Lower fee limits during declared emergencies. NC, CO, and RI cap at 10% only during catastrophes.

How long you have to cancel after signing. Florida gives 10 days; most states give 3 business days.

When the insurer pays limits quickly, these states restrict the adjuster's fee. FL's is the strictest.
